If you are both receiving and returning pallets, ask the supplier whether the two can be handled in one visit. Combining a delivery and a pickup can reduce the number of trips, but whether it is possible depends on the supplier.

Delivery suits buyers who want pallets brought to their site, and pickup suits sellers who want pallets collected. Some orders are small enough to collect yourself. Describe your situation in the request, and the supplier can explain which option is available.

Pricing is by quote from partner suppliers. Transport costs generally depend on distance, pallet quantity, and timing, and some suppliers include transport in the quote while others quote it separately. Ask the supplier what is included.

Make sure the delivery area is accessible for a truck. Check whether you have a forklift or dock for unloading, since not every supplier can unload for you. Clear a staging area for the pallets, and count them before you sign a delivery receipt.

Stack pallets neatly and keep them accessible for loading. Sort them by size and condition if you can, since that helps the supplier quote accurately. Tell the supplier about any damaged, painted, or chemically treated pallets in the pile.

Pallets should be stacked evenly and secured so they do not shift in transit. Ask the supplier how loads are handled and what the process is if something is damaged. Check current regulations for anything that affects how your loads are moved.

Timing is set by the supplier and varies by location and order. Tell the supplier when you need the pallets and any receiving restrictions at your site. Confirm the arrangement directly with the supplier.

If your pallets are going out of the country, ask for heat-treated, stamped pallets. ISPM 15 heat treatment brings the wood to a core temperature of 56 °C for 30 minutes, and compliant pallets carry an HT stamp. Confirm the stamp and any destination rules before shipping.
